Lusaka, Zambia, 17th February, 2022 – A delegation of 50 participants, including senior government officials and representatives from the US Embassy to Zambia, attended a meeting organised by which was held at the Commerce and Trade Symposium. The theme of the event was Zambian trade and investment with the emphasis on enabling businesses to evolve and develop.聽
The meeting took the form of a question and answer session whereby The Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, the Honorable Chipoka Mulenga, was interviewed by a moderator from the (础尘颁丑补尘).听
High on the agenda were policy matters affecting the state of the commerce industry in which the Minister assured the attendees of the government’s direction. The Minister emphasised the need to grow small to medium enterprises (SME鈥檚) in Zambia through access to finance and shared the government鈥檚 plans regarding businesses in the private sector.
The Minister also called for strong partnership between local and foreign trade and investment for long term economic growth. Zambia鈥檚 economic growth aspirations are guided by the , which is 鈥淭o become a prosperous middle income nation by 2030.鈥
