The third cohort of Unicaf scholars graduate from the University of Suffolk in the UK

After successfully completing their studies online, 751 Unicaf scholars from 62 different countries have graduated from the in the UK in 2024. This was the third cohort of Unicaf scholars to have graduated from the esteemed British University.

Our hard-working Unicaf scholars have earned postgraduate degrees in Nursing, (MSc (Hons) International Nursing – Progression route), Public Health, (MSc Public Health) and Business, (Master in Business Administration MBA). A significant number of graduates travelled to the UK, in order to celebrate their academic achievement by attending the Graduation Ceremony at the University of Suffolk campus.

The University鈥檚 Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jenny Higham, emphasised in her message in the Graduation brochure, that the University is committed to transforming lives and communities through education, training and research, aiming to make a positive impact on individuals, their communities and society in general.

Addressing this year鈥檚 graduates, Professor Higham said: 鈥淲e aim to prepare you for your future working life and to make an impact in the world around you. Our graduate employment prospects remain excellent, demonstrating our students鈥 value in a competitive market. So, I urge you to be confident in the skills and qualities you have gained through your time with us and to take this learning and confidence into the workplace with you. We are proud to welcome you into the University of Suffolk alumni community, your life long link with the University.鈥

The University of Suffolk Chancellor, Professor Helen Pankhurst CBE, congratulated the graduates for their achievement in her message in the Graduation brochure. The Chancellor had these words of advice for this year鈥檚 graduates: 鈥淚 believe that whatever path we take, whatever our work or personal circumstance, we have an individual and collective responsibility to make our world a better place, including promoting inclusion and challenging discrimination and prejudice.鈥

Graduate Oluwapelumi Emmanuel Awe, who was awarded a First Class degree in the BSc (Hons) International Nursing – Progression route programme, was this year鈥檚 winner of the Unicaf Africa Prize. This Prize was launched in 2022 and celebrates the achievement of the top performing Unicaf scholar graduating from the University of Suffolk every year. In recognition of his academic achievement, Oluwapelumi received a commemorative plaque and a cash reward of $200. The top performing graduate delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of all graduates of 2024, highlighting the journey of personal growth and professional empowerment experienced during their studies and expressed gratitude to the faculty, fellow students and the families of graduates for their unwavering support throughout this journey, with the ultimate goal of earning a prestigious British Master鈥檚 degree.

The Graduation Ceremony at the University of Suffolk campus was a memorable event for all Unicaf scholars who travelled to the UK to attend it. Unicaf is proud of all its scholars across the world, who manage to successfully complete their demanding studies online to earn British academic qualifications, which are sought after by employers across the globe and can help them build high flying careers and better lives.
